High Capacity Model Ultra Drain Guard Details
For storm drains located in areas that receive a high volume of silt and sediment in stormwater runoff, you want to make sure the drainage basin filter can stand up to heavy loads and pollutants. The High Capacity Model Ultra Drain Guard can hold up to 300 lbs. of silt, sediment, and debris, as well as filter hydrocarbons and oil. Made of heavy duty, needle punched geotextile, the Extra Large Storm Drain Filter has a 60" x 60" skirt and can fit drains up to 54" x 54" in size. Excess material can be trimmed if you so desire. When the unit is full, it could be extremely heavy because of its large capacity. For this reason, the High Capacity Model Drain guard is outfitted with large, 3" wide polyester handling straps.

For faster and easier installation and removal, we recommend using retainer bars that will hold the large Storm Drain Filter in place. Because of the size and weight when full, we recommend use of a backhoe, forklift, or other equipment to remove the High Capacity Model Drain Guard from the storm drain catch basin.

The oil absorption capacity of the standard Ultra Drain Guard is .87 gallons and the max sediment load is 40 lbs. For the High Capacity Drain Guard, the oil absorption limit is 1.9 gallons and the max sediment load is 300 lbs.
The handling straps of the High capacity Ultra Drain Guard are meant to assist you in the installation and removal of your drain guard. Additionally, you can purchase retainer bars from us to insert in the handling straps for easy installation and removal when the High Capacity model Drain Guard is full. The retainer bars prevent the filter from dropping into the basin when the grate is lifted.
