Coir Mat 40 (also called Coir Mat 400) provides biodegradable erosion control for environmentally sensitive areas. Made of machine spun bristle coir twine, the large open weave construction of the coconut fiber mat erosion control will allow for new vegetative growth to stabilize the ground in the future. Coconut fiber erosion control blanket has a typical lifespan of 4-6 years. Recommended use accounts for flows up to 8 fps and includes use on 3:1 slopes. Coconut Fiber Mat Erosion Control Frequently Asked Questions
First, make sure the ground has been uniformly graded so the coconut coir fiber matting comes in complete contact with the ground. Dig a trench at the bottom and top of your project slope to backfill the coir fiber mat in place once you've secured the erosion mat with the proper anchoring accessories. Once this has been done, install the mats by unrolling the coir fiber matting in the direction of the flow of water.
Once you've installed your coconut coir fiber mat by unrolling it and placing it in the direction of the flow of water, you will need to secure it in place.
